Kersh, the prominent Canadian fashion label specializing in contemporary women's fashions, extends its brand with the debut of its first-ever line of handbags at the WWD MAGIC Conference and trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada Feb. 16 through 18, 2010. The handbags represent one of the many licensed products that the Kersh brand is looking to sign.
Perry Ellis Branded Boys’ Apparel New License Agreement

Perry Ellis International announced today that it has entered into a license agreement with Fishman & Tobin, Inc. to design, manufacture and distribute boys’ apparel as well as girls’ and boys’ school uniforms under the Perry Ellis®, Perry Ellis Portfolio® and Perry Ellis America® family of brands.

Cherokee Inc. a leading global licensor and brand management company, yesterday reported financial results for its third quarter ended October 31, 2009 (the “Third Quarter”). Net revenues for the Third Quarter totaled $8.04 million, $5,000 greater than revenues in the comparable period last year. Operating income for the Third Quarter was $4.71 million, or $40,000 greater than the $4.67 million of operating income in the comparable period last year. Pre-tax profits for the Third Quarter totaled $4.72 million, as compared to $4.71 million in the comparable period last year. Net earnings for the Third Quarter totaled $2.77 million, or $0.31 per diluted share, as compared to $3.25 million, or $0.37 per diluted share, in the comparable period last year, due to a lower tax provision in the comparable period last year resulting from certain favorable tax-related adjustments. The Company ended the quarter with cash and equivalents of $9.26 million, net receivables of $7.45 million and no debt.

Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation (NYSE: PVH) announced today that it has licensed Jensan Apparel Corporation to produce and market a full range of golfwear for men, women and children under PVH’s IZOD G brand.

Jensan’s first IZOD G collection, set to arrive in stores in Fall 2010, will be distributed in green grass shops; golf, tennis and sporting goods stores; and specialty stores. The territory licensed to Jensan includes the United States, its territories and possessions, as well as Canada.

NexCen Brands Announces Expansion of Six Franchised Brands in Africa : fashion licensing

NexCen Brands, Inc. (PINK SHEETS: NEXC) announced today the signing of a master franchise agreement with Teixeira Development Group, an Angolan company, for the expansion of the Company’s Great American Cookies®, MaggieMoo’s®, Marble Slab Creamery®, Pretzelmaker®, TAF™, and Shoebox New York® brands.

The master franchise agreement calls for the development of 58 stores across the six franchised brands in Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe over a 10-year term. These stores will be the first NexCen franchised stores in these African countries. The Company recently announced the opening of the first TAF store in Botswana under a separate agreement signed in October 2008 with a different developer.

Perry Ellis International (NASDAQ:PERY) announced yesterday that it has signed a licensing agreement with S.A.R.L. de Gestion Pierre Cardin to source, sell and distribute the Pierre Cardin® brand for men’s sportswear, except for woven shirts, in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This is a five year agreement, starting in 2010.

Dickies and Daystone International Announce Conclusion of Licensing Agreement

Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. and Daystone International today announced the completion of their licensing partnership. For nine years, Daystone International held the license for Dickies fashion headwear, caps and cold weather knit headwear.

Daystone International, a wholly owned subsidiary of San Sun Hat and Cap Co. Ltd, has been a strong licensee for Dickies. The company will continue to fulfill Dickies licensed orders through 2009. Daystone International will also continue operations in Atlanta through December 2009. Following that, the company’s new headquarters will be located in Roselle, IL, a suburb of Chicago.

Dickies is not currently accepting proposals for a new licensing partner in headwear and cold weather accessories.
