BLE, the Advanstar organised exhibition, has confirmed a host of new exhibitors just two weeks before the show is due to take place for the 15th year. Arsenal Football Club and PUMA SE have joined the Brands Zone together with Extreme Sports Company and Kitbag, which represents Everton, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland football clubs.

Today Gap announced the brand is joining a yearlong celebration of the life and music of Jimi Hendrix in honor of his 70th birthday with the launch of two limited-edition t-shirt designs. The t-shirts feature art from the iconic musician's new album, People, Hell and Angels, which introduces previously unreleased studio recordings from 1969, the year Gap was founded in San Francisco.

Advanstar Licensing, organizers of Licensing Expo, the world's largest and most influential licensing industry event, today announced that more than 40 fashion brands are confirmed to exhibit at the upcoming Expo. Licensing Expo is taking place June 18-20 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Hello Kitty's Milan-based, High-end Fashion Brand, Pynkiss, Heads Home to Asia to Capture a Slice of the $4 billion Chinese Licensed Goods Market

 

Hello Kitty's first and only high-end fashion brand is heading towards its roots in Asia, with the opening of 15 stores across the continent. Pynkiss boutiques have already opened for business in the Philippines marking the beginning of their Asian growth plan. Pynkiss directors are in talks with several high-profile businesses and stockists across the entire region including several in mainland China. They are preparing for the further expansion of the brand throughout the remainder of 2012 and well into 2013, bringing its premium apparel and accessories to the already devoted Asian Hello Kitty customer.

HBO Global Licensing has announced the launch of Forsaken, a unique collection of beauty products inspired by its Emmy® and Golden Globe® winning hit series True Blood.  HBO aligned with Forsaken LLC, a specialty licensing partnership created by Multi Media Exposure and Virtue Development, to create a one-of-a-kind luxury collection which includes: the Forsaken signature fragrance created by Givaudan; beauty products from Deborah Lippmann and home fragrance products from D.L. & Co.  A first for HBO, the line will launch exclusively on HSN, HSN.com and via HSN mobile beginning on August 9, 2012, in conjunction with the show's fifth season. The collection will be available at the HBO Shop in September and will follow with worldwide distribution at specialty retailers late 2012. 

Licensing Expo and Fashion Tradeshow MAGIC Share Parent Company

Licensing Expo 2012, held on June 12-14, at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, has created a welcoming environment for the fastest growing segment of licensing: fashion. Licensed products account for more than $190 billion annually in retail revenue and fashion licensing already represents nearly 25 percent of that number, but continued growth is expected as more fashion brands seek to take advantage of the low investment, high return opportunity that licensing offers.

Big Idea Brands, LLC  announced today that Accessory Exchange of New York signed a licensing agreement with Big Idea Brands for their Flow Society brand. Accessory Exchange will be the exclusive brand licensee for socks, hats and bags.

Footwear industry executive, Gary Rich, with over 35 years in the footwear industry and former President of Brown Shoe Company - Wholesale, announced the formation of Rich Footwear Group.

Global Footwear Company, Cortina - Leomil Group, announces yesterday the signing of an exclusive agreement with Rovio, for the Angry Birds license for the US and Canada.  To best serve this market, Cortina - Leomil Group is also pleased to announce a partnership with the newly formed Rich Footwear Group to market and sell the new line in the US and Canada.

The files of the Blue Book Agency, Marilyn's first model agency in Los Angeles, recovered in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Miss Emmeline Snively, founder of the agency in 1939, discovered Marilyn Monroe (then Norma Jean Dougherty) in 1945 as a model. The files go all the way back from 1945 until 1969, the year that, as Miss Snively mentioned in a interview, "She put it away forever".

On Wednesday, May 2, 2012, the estate of legendary actor and cultural icon Humphrey Bogart filed suit against Burberry to address Burberry's unauthorized, commercial use of Humphrey Bogart's publicity rights in an international advertising campaign.  Using on-line social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, Burberry advertised globally that Humphrey Bogart wore a Burberry trench coat in the final scene of Casablanca.  The Bogart Estate, however, never gave permission for the use of Humphrey Bogart's image in this advertising campaign.

Continuing to build upon its global expansion, Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. announces that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Delta Galil Industries, Ltd. (DELT/Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, DELTY.PK/OTCQX) for men's and women's underwear, loungewear and hosiery under both the "Kenneth Cole New York" and "Kenneth Cole Reaction" labels. 

The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by PVH Corp, is pleased to announce an agreement with Ittierre S.p.A to license the men's and women's runway collections beginning Fall 2012 and pre-collections Spring 2013. Ittierre will produce and distribute apparel and the majority of accessories, with distribution concentrated in Europe, North America and Asia. 

Lifted Research Group, widely known as L-R-G, announced today a partnership with Clean Plate Club (CPC) to design and market footwear collections under the L-R-G brand name. Under the terms of the licensing agreement, the footwear collections will be sold in L-R-G's existing high-end distribution channels including better department stores and specialty stores in the U.S., as well as through international distribution partners and the L-R-G online shop.  In addition to the existing accounts mentioned above, the collection will also target footwear specific retailers.
The Jones Group today announced that it has entered into an exclusive, worldwide license agreement with Marchon Eyewear, Inc. ("Marchon") for the creation, production, marketing and global distribution of ophthalmic eyewear frames and prescription-ready sunglasses under the Nine West brand.  Marchon is known worldwide as a premier manufacturer and marketer of ophthalmic eyewear and sunwear.
Today, Old Navy announced 'Superfan Nation' a new in-store destination housing fan gear for the entire family. The move is an expansion of the brand's already successful licensing product strategy. In collaboration with the NFL and the Collegiate Licensing Company, a division of IMG worldwide, Old Navy will now offer apparel and accessories for all professional football and select collegiate sports teams in the U.S. Beginning August 18, Old Navy will bring the stadium fan gear experience to its nearly 1,000 U.S. stores, with each store having a tailored collection that caters to the favorite teams of the local community.
