Jeans for “The Wild One” are inspired by the 50’s. New basic denim is a must, as well as rustic denim with vintage effects in blue/black tones and affinity denim for a “work” look. Bull denim is presented in green, grey, brown and blue with vintage washes for the tastes of a true young rebel. The Guess man is no slave to fashion and finds an ample choice in slim, regular and relaxed fits that suit all his needs. Materials are, as ever, avant garde - wool-denim is proposed in dark indigo with a “raw” effect. The Wild One teams his jeans with sporty, shiny outerwear - rich, yet functional and trendy. Knits are linear with clean colours or alternatively are detailed with inlays or all-over prints and bright tones. The palette works from pastels through to intense shades of beige, yellow, blue and grey. Our new “New English Dandy" lives in simple and sophisticated comfort denim, with over-dyed and resin washes. His clean look is complimented by the use of intense cobalt blue on denim for a youthful and super-trendy effect. He wants for nothing in warm and luxurious wool jackets or cashmere/silk melange knits. A novelty touch is proposed in shirts made of many types of jacquard. British style influences notably in velvet waistcoats adorned with satin and printed cotton inserts and trench coats revisited in the GUESS style. Light weight knits are inlayed or proposed in jacquard and embellished with embroidery and print details. The refined dandy look is best expressed in the use of purple, red, green and grey tones. For both of these themes, the key fit of the season is the military slim pant that offers a more refined casual look, while jackets are also completely re-visited with perfect construction for a more formal yet comfortable appearance. The “Film Noir” inspires for a game of mix and match in true expressionism – shiny fabrics contrast with opaque in dark tones of brown, green and grey or black. Garments for day and for night that are elegant and chic. A very particular piece is a chenille sweater specially designed as eveningwear. Yarns are the protagonists of this theme with use of mouliné and mohair on shawl style knits
A journey through cinema for the GUESS man next Fall/Winter 2008-09 with themes that take inspiration from films such as “The Wild One” with Marlon Brando and “Film Noir”. Alternatively looks are clean and very British in a “New English Dandy” theme.

Results for the Three Months Ended March 29, 2008
As disclosed in previous filings, Hampshire Group sold certain assets of its Shane Hunter subsidiary on April 15, 2008. For the periods discussed herein, Shane Hunter’s results of operations were reflected in discontinued operations and excluded from continuing operations.
Net sales from continuing operations for the three months ended March 29, 2008 decreased 2.0% to $39.8 million from $40.6 million for the same period last year. The decline was the result of a decrease in volume due mainly to weak retail conditions and partially offset by higher average unit selling prices. If these retail conditions persist, which the Company believes appears likely for the balance of the year, net sales will be adversely affected in 2008.

Myth: If it comes from China it is fake.
Fact: Made in China does Not mean the goods are fake. Authentic apparel is being manufactured in China, Sri Lanka, Bolivia, Taiwan, Indonesia, India, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, Hong Kong and many more countries.
Myth: Poor quality clothing with loose threads is fake.
Fact: Authentic apparel is not always perfect. Authentic irregular and seconds are liquidated at the discount factory outlets each day. New factory made goods from China are being produced. These "China produced garments" are of a lower quality but it should be noted that the quality is not relative to the authenticity.
Myth: If the price is too low it is fake.
Fact: Low pricing does Not mean the apparel is fake, it simply means the apparel is discounted for a reason. Factory stores will discount apparel that is being closed out from last season or if there is overstock of the current goods. The factory retail stores discount the prices on authentic branded apparel between 50% - 75% off the retail price.
Myth: If there is unlimited supplies it is fake.
Fact: Many of the factory stores are producing ongoing supplies for the factory outlet stores. The garments manufactured for the factory stores is usually lower quality. The RL and the Brooks Brothers stores are two examples of outlet stores selling unlimited supplies of polos in all sizes and colors.
