Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) announced plans to open a new Nordstrom Rack in downtown Chicago. The 36,000-square-foot store will be located on East Chicago Avenue between North Michigan Avenue and North Rush Street, and is expected to open in Fall 2010.

The Nordstrom Rack will join a vibrant retail, dining, and hospitality presence at this city block location that includes the Chicago flagship Polo store and RL Restaurant, Tiffany & Co., Banana Republic and the five-star Peninsula Chicago hotel.

The fashion-focused collection will be available at nordstrom.com/newmoon beginning Oct. 1 and in the BP. department at Nordstrom stores beginning Oct. 15, 2009

Nordstrom Rack to Open in Cherry Creek, Colorado

Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. a leading fashion specialty retailer, announced it will open a 39,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack, a unit of the company's off-price retail division, in Cherry Creek in Denver, Colo. in spring 2010. The new store will be located at the intersection of South Colorado Boulevard and Florida Avenue.

Nordstrom Reports May 2009 Sales

Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN), today reported preliminary retail sales of $653 million for the four-week period ended May 30, 2009, a decrease of 8.7 percent compared with retail sales of $716 million for the four-week period ended May 31, 2008. Same-store sales for May decreased 13.1 percent compared with the same period in fiscal 2008.
