Macy's celebrates the launch of its new Parisian inspired fashion brand, Maison Jules by introducing a limited edition bike, in collaboration with Martone Cycling Company. In step with the current trend of the bike as a key fashion accessory, the collaboration has resulted in the creation of a custom "Maison Jules X Martone" bike. Beginning August 1st, 151 bikes will be displayed alongside the collection in Macy's top doors carrying the line. Each of those 151 "Maison Jules X Martone" bikes will be given away to a lucky customer who has won a store-wide sweepstakes.

Macy’s (NYSE: M) and MADE Fashion Week, an initiative co-founded by Jenné Lombardo, Mazdack Rassi and Keith Baptista, are collaborating to create an ongoing series of collections to be carried exclusively by the retailer beginning March 12. Launching in 150 Macy’s stores and on, the collections will sit within dedicated MADE Fashion Week space in the Impulse department, with new items rotating onto the floor throughout the season. Featuring approximately 20 to 30 pieces per collection and inspired by cutting-edge street fashion, the launch campaign was shot by Terry Richardson.

Macy’s, Inc. (NYSE:M) today reported that it has hired more than 1,000 students from America’s colleges and universities in 2012 for slots in the company’s Executive Development Program (EDP) and for summer internships nationwide.
Macy's this week announced a collaboration with fashion icon, designer and television star, Nicole Richie for a special collection to be carried exclusively by the retailer this fall. Launching in 100 Macy's stores and on in September, the collection will be a continuation of the designer capsule series for the retailer's contemporary fashion Impulse department. "Nicole Richie for Impulse only at Macy's" will feature exclusive, limited-edition apparel inspired by Richie's trendsetting personal style, including 1970s influenced silhouettes, prints and fabrications. In conjunction with fMC, a Facebook event for marketers, Macy's  unveiled the launch of its new Facebook(R) Page. As one of the first retail brands to shift to Facebook's new Page format, Macy's will share the colorful history of its brand, as well as the company's current news and initiatives, through the more visual and dynamic storytelling of Page timeline.

The 120,000-square-foot store on two levels will headline an upscale redevelopment of the center being planned by its owner, General Growth Properties. The top two floors of the former Mervyn’s location will be entirely remodeled by Bloomingdale’s into a sophisticated upscale shopping experience, with construction expected to begin in 2012. The Bloomingdale’s store workforce is projected to include 175 associates.

Macy's, Inc. (NYSE:M) today reported total sales of $2.298 billion for the five weeks ended Oct. 1, 2011, an increase of 5.3 percent compared with total sales of $2.181 billion in the five weeks ended Oct. 2, 2010. On a same-store basis, Macy's, Inc. sales were up 4.9 percent in September.

Fashion Incubator San Francisco at Macy’s Union Square (FISF) is calling all aspiring fashion apparel designers in the Bay Area to apply for six open spots in its 2012 Designers in Residence program. Former Mayor Willie Brown officially kicked off the FISF Designers in Residence application process at a fashion presentation hosted by renowned Atlantic-Pacific blogger Blair Eadie, starting at 6 p.m., September 8, on the third floor at Macy’s Fashion’s Night Out event.

Karl Lagerfeld Capsule Collection Launches This Week

Tomorrow, Macy’s will unveil the new exclusive Karl Lagerfeld capsule collection in the retailer’s Impulse department. The third capsule in the retailer’s series of exclusive, designer collections, “Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse Only at Macy’s,” features limited-edition women’s apparel pieces reminiscent of the designer’s signature style. “Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse Only at Macy’s” will be sold in 235 Macy’s stores nationwide and on beginning Aug. 31.

Macy’s recently announced Giambattista Valli as the fourth designer in its collaboration series to create a capsule collection for the retailer’s fashion “Impulse” department later this fall. Known for extravagant designs and great party dresses, the collection will be Valli’s first foray into affordable fashion. Launching on Oct. 26, 2011 with limited-edition women’s apparel pieces, the “Giambattista Valli for Impulse Only at Macy’s” collection will be sold in approximately 225 Macy’s stores nationwide and on Valli’s unique style and signature craftsmanship is fully reflected in this bold collection that features everything from sequin-encrusted jackets to a soutache dress. and Macy's are partnering for a back to school campaign that offers students the chance to make real impact in their communities.
