NYX Cosmetics presented the Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE) Awards – a YouTube competition – naming Charis Amber Lincoln, who goes by CharismaStar on YouTube, the Beauty Vlogger of the Year. The live runway finale held at IMATS on June 24 was Emceed by Perez Hilton and judged by Celebrity Makeup Artist Scott Barnes along with other industry influencers.The FACE Awards was created to give back to the beauty vlogger community and reward them for their passion and creativity.
The competition kicked off on March 6ththrough an open call on YouTube for entries. A judging panel named the top 30 contestants who then went through numerous challenges - which were voted on by the public – to narrow down to the final six who were flown to Los Angeles. On Sunday, June 24 the final six contestants competed in a live runway show presenting their final looks in front of a packed room of over six hundred people.
A panel of five judges: Toni K., Founder and Chief Creative Director of NYX Cosmetics; Scott Barnes, Celebrity Makeup Artist; Nils Johnson, CEO and Co-Founder of Beautylish; Michael Cain, Director of Education Macadamia Natural Oil; and Tim Lusher, General Manager of Westin Hotels, judged the final runway event evaluating the final six contestants on categories such as artistry, composition, technique, innovation, and tutorial quality.
While all six contestants presented award winning looks which can all be viewed on the NYX FACE Awards Video . Ultimately, Charis Amber Lincoln aka CharismaStar of North Pole, Alaska was named the Beauty Vlogger of the Year, showcasing a futuristic, glam rock winning-look inspired by David Bowie and Kat Von D. She created a dramatic eye and lip using an array of NYX Cosmetics products including various shades of the Slide on Pencil, Glitter Liners and Pin-Up Tease Mascara from the Boudoir collection.

As the winner, Lincoln took home a cash prize of $25,000 and will gain access to influential beauty insiders, including a day shadowing Celebrity Makeup Artist and Judge, Scott Barnes. The five runners up; Chelsea Crockett (Beautyliciousinsider), Angela Davis (Goldie Starling), Bethany Alviles (iWanted2C1Video), Lisa Her (ProMUAnetwork), and Sabrina Novenschi (Sabs Beauty) received a year's worth of NYX Cosmetics.
After receiving the coveted title, Lincoln stated, "I am so honored to be named the NYX FACE Awards' Beauty Vlogger of the Year! This entire experience has been life-changing and I look forward to the opportunities that will be available to me as a result of winning this competition."
Over the course of the FACE Awards Competition, NYX received over 28 million impressions, far exceeding the 3 million goal set by the company at the outset of the competition. Additionally, NYX reached over 5.6 million Facebook users, garnered 400,000 views on YouTube, and boosted the brand's twitter presence, attracting nearly 15,000 new followers.
