As of summer 2009, Body Look – the International Trade Fair for Body, Beach and Legwear – will take place annually instead of semi-annually. The trade fair will not be held in February 2009 as initially scheduled. The show’s organizer Igedo Company made this decision in consultation with the advisory board of Body Look which consists of representatives from the exhibitor, buyer and association sector. For this summer, the Igedo Company plans a new, extremely lifestyle-oriented exhibition concept with broader ranges and segments. The trade fair will be held from July 26 – 28, 2009 in Düsseldorf , Germany and will be the first event in Europe for the new order season in the bodywear and swimwear industry.
“Despite the emotional “turnaround” Body Look managed to achieve with its event in July 2008, we have decided not to hold Body Look in February. To us, the number of registered exhibitors would not have been sufficient to guarantee a representative and, therefore, successful show. We will now use the time until July 2009 intensely to adapt the trade fair concept to the new market demands. We and especially the entire industry continue to place our trust in the destination Düsseldorf. Together with our exhibitors we will develop many ideas over the next few months to strengthen Body Look even in times of economic unrest,” explained Kirsten Deutelmoser, Project Director of Body Look.
For the July 2009 event, numerous market leaders including Maryan Mehlhorn, Felina, Eva B. Bitzer with Fürstenberg, Bruno Banani, Rösch with Rösch CreativeCulture, Féraud Paris, Daniel Hechter and Blanche Fleur, Premium Bodywear with Olaf Benz and Manstore as well as Calvin Klein, Simone Pérèle, Susa, Bad Hersfelder Dessous with Gattina, Chantal Thomass, Kenzo, Galliano, Christian Lacroix, Riedl and Glumann have announced their participation at this early stage. The Body Look team will introduce the new concept to the sector early next year.
