Representatives of Southern Tide today announced that Jim Twining has been named chief executive officer, and as such, is responsible for the overall operations of the company.

Before joining Southern Tide, Twining began his own consulting and advisory company, Twining Enterprises, LLC. Prior to founding his consulting practice, Twining served as president and chief executive officer of a technology company focused on the independent distribution and retail industries. A native of Charlotte, N.C., Twining graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.

We are very excited to have Jim on board, said Allen Stephenson, founder and designer for Southern Tide. He helped us create our strategic plan, and as we winded our way through the process, it became apparent that there was a good fit between Jim and the rest of the Southern Tide team. As an experienced leader with years of insight, Jim is the ideal person to help take Southern Tide through the rapid growth we are experiencing.

As I learned more about Southern Tide and the vision Allen and his team had for the company, it was exhilarating, said Twining.

In talking to industry veterans and our customers, it became apparent that what Southern Tide had accomplished was truly remarkable. This company is poised to continue its rapid growth and innovative product design and I am honored to be part of the team.
