Look then at the Pantone colors that are in style for spring 2008. You have golden olive, spring crocus- a variant of light purple, rococo red, which is a variant on red/pink, then there is pink mist which is a light color verging on purple, thus it is violet/pink with that hazy spring misty look…note the grading from reds to pinks to violets….Golden olive for now seems to be on its own but for next spring, you can feel the airiness and lightness..The question is the nature of these colors…is it puffiness or straigtness in the sleeves which is important…possibly for spring…there will some sleevelessness but stilll overall there must be that light rococo fluffy look or a more conservative straight look..perhaps some regency elements…still there is a specific color called rococo red and this hints at the use of fluffy, feminine, rococo styles…

Then there is a color called Croissant which seems to be in an identical palette to golden olive. It is lighter in grade, in certain respects to golden olive. This palette of golden olive and croissant could be suitable for certain tastes while the rococo reds and maybe the spring crocus could suit more feminine looks.

Despite the softness in colors, perhaps still, these colors may not be overtly feminine. Still they can be used to create feminine looks, or fluffy rococo looks. The next question is the style but these Pantone colors are an important basis for the spring styles. Note too an interesting variant of yellow called Freesia which of course is not an overtly feminine color but despite this there is a strength and vibrancy about this latter color. Freesia could be obviously in the same palette or range as Croissant but there are definitely different overall effects from Freesia and Croissant.. Both can product different effects and it is not certain whether Freesia and Croissant could be used together I.e. blouse and skirt. Pantone’s choice of colors for 2008 allows for interesting combinations and then again you can obviously still use colors not in these palettes such as the obvious Black. Black and Croissant could provide the basis for interesting styles for example. Finally there is Cantaloupe which is a variant of pink, Daiquiri Green, Snorkel Blue and Silver Gray.
