Esquel Appoints New Chief Executive Officer - Fashion Newspaper Article

The Esquel Group today announced the appointment of Dr. John Cheh as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2008.
In announcing the appointment, Ms. Marjorie Yang, Chairman and CEO, thanked John for his valuable contributions to the growth of Esquel. "Esquel is embarking on its next phase of accelerated growth. With John in his new leadership position and a strong Esquel team, we shall march with confidence towards our strategic objectives," said Ms. Yang.
After completing his undergraduate degree at McGill University, John studied International Trade Policy at MIT, where he received his Ph.D. degree in Economics. He joined the Canadian Government in 1974 and worked for the Treasury Board and Privy Council Office in the economic and financial policy area. From 1981 to 1993, he was with Canada's Department of External Affairs and International Trade, serving in Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo in senior diplomatic positions.
In 1994 he became President, Asia, of Bell Canada International, in charge of its strategic telecommunications investments and Merger and Acquisitions. Prior to joining Esquel in 2003, John was President of Bombardier Inc. China.
