A wallet is probably one of the greatest inventions for the modern
man. Not only are they used to store small quantities of cash, the
modern wallet since the 50s have included card slots to store credit
cards and business cards. Mens wallets
are also used as a status symbol for the professional or the working
class individual. A fine, full leather wallet from a famous fashion
designer is always appealing and shows a distinct taste or style of a
person. Mens wallets come in many shapes, styles and designs, making them an item which reflects very much on the person's personality.
The all time popular design of the mens wallet has got to be the bifold wallet. Pretty much the standard design for a wallet in modern times, the bifold wallet is made to accommodate banknotes folded into two. There are also multiple compartments to store credit cards and identification cards either horizontally or vertically. Leather adds a nice luxurious and soft feel to the wallet. As leather is a relatively tough material, the wallet can resist minor scratches and indentation, as well as offering excellent flexibility. You can put them in your back or front pants pocket and it will never lose its original shape.
Another design which is fast becoming popular among the younger generation is the trifold wallet. As its name suggests, this is a wallet with three folds. The designs suit those who have a large amount of credit cards or any type of cards which is deemed too important to leave behind. With the trifold wallet, the cards are stored vertically for easy access when you open either end. As for currency notes, there is normally a slot at the side of the wallet for storage. Similar to the bifold wallet, the trifold wallet is made from high quality leather for the durability and flexibility. However, other more modern designs by sporting goods manufacturers have their own interpretation of the trifold wallet. Velcro is used to securely fasten the wallet in the fold position and some even have compartments for change!
If you are looking for a thin wallet for specific occasions where having a bulky wallet is either unsightly or undesirable, consider the money clips type. Made specifically to hold folded currency notes, this variation of the wallet is one where you can place in any pocket: breast pocket, front or back pants pocket. There are no bulges which could be clearly seen and can give you that smart, professional look. This type of wallet is perfect for a black tie event or just simply if you feel more comfortable carrying something light and effortless. Most designs are made of leather, for its long lasting characteristic and a magnetic fastener, to keep your notes extremely secure. Some modern designs have included a couple of card slots. These are perfect when you need to carry around important identification or credit cards
Checks are an amazing tool when you do not want to bring large amounts of cash and where credit cards are not accepted. As such, a good and reliable checkbook wallet is great for such situations. Some designs come with card slots for those important cards which you simply cannot leave behind. For the 'power' users, there are also designs with tab closures, for security and a pen loop, so you do not have to search for a pen when writing your checks!
The earliest form of wallets dated back to ancient Greece. The concept and idea for a wallet has evolved from a provisions carrying tool to a smaller, compact tool to carry modern currency notes and credit cards. With such a variety of wallet designs, finding the right one to suit your style is simple and easy. Feel secure and at ease with the right tool to carry your most essential monetary items!
