Avery Dennison will Explain the Power Single Intelligent Label

A presentation that explains the compelling benefits of a single intelligent label will highlight Avery Dennison’s participation at Apparel’s Tech Conference 2007, November 7 – 8, 2007 Fashion Institute of Technology, 7th Avenue @ 27th Street New York, NY.

The presentation, titled “Source Tagging & Implementing Item-level RFID at the Point of Manufacture,” will be hosted by Philip Calderbank, Director of Global Marketing RFID & Security for Avery Dennison’s Information and Brand Management Division. It will take place in the afternoon of November 7th. Calderbank’s talk on intelligent labeling will encompass themes of vital interest to apparel manufacturers, brand owners and retailers.

“Our presentation will show how RFID technology improves supply chain visibility, while assuring on-shelf availability for retailers,” Calderbank notes. “In addition, through the introduction of intelligent labels, Avery Dennison aims to package brand security, loss prevention, and product track & trace into smart price tickets, graphic hang tags and woven labels. While RFID is an important and fast emerging technology in the apparel & footwear markets, we also see the opportunity to combine anti-counterfeit and EAS technologies into the same label or tag. Any operation that already budgets to combat shrink and counterfeit products will see substantial savings in the combination intelligent labels and tags.”

Presentation points include:

  • The features and benefits of ink taggants, holograms, invisible bar codes, and EAS and RFID tags and labels.
  • Cost savings analysis of the intelligent tag.
  • Market trends.
  • A report on Marks & Spencer’s adoption of item-level RFID.
  • Source tagging business advantages.
  • Creating and matching RFID EPC codes to SKUs.
  • Software for managing the source tagging ordering process.
  • Benefits to the producer/manufacturer.
  • Creating RFID EPC codes and matching to SKUs
