It's that time of the year again. The air is a little chillier, the sun isn't shining as much as it use to, and your wardrobe is suddenly filled with sweaters and coats. The wintertime is a great season for clothes, especially shoes. The season is always full of great women shoes, which is probably why I'm all excited to go shoe shopping for winter. From boots to pumps and everything in between, it is hard not to be excited about women shoes for the winter. So here are some great picks that I'm sure will get you excited as well.

Snow Boots

The winter is my favorite season because of the snow. Although I do not live by the snow, I always love making my way to the mountains to take up the nice, fresh powder. But if you dare venturing out into the snow, having the proper shoe is the an essential piece of footwear. But snow boots are far from the standard designs that they once were before. With many popular brands like UGG and even Juicy Couture dipping their hands into the snow boot market this winter season, you can be sure the there will be a ton of fashionable footwear for the snow.

Bootie

When it comes to a standard piece of footwear every woman should own, a chic pair of booties is the way to go. Booties, which are essentially a boot that comes to the ankles, is a very versatile shoe that can be worn virtually everywhere. But just as a tip, if you are going to by a bootie, try to stick to standard colors like black or brown, and also one that has a heel. By having at least one classic bootie, you can wear them for years to come.

Pumps

Generally, pumps are a staple piece all year round, but in the winter it is essential that you have a great pump that you can wear, not only to work, but also for those holiday events. A great standard black pump is always a piece that can be used with multiple outfits. Also, I find that other styles like t-strap pumps are fabulous options for the winter, just because they look fabulous with a pair of tights. But which every you choose, a t-strap or a standard heel, a great pump is always in fashion.

Tall Boots

This winter season, the tall boot is definitely in. From patent leather, to suede, to the standard leather, tall boots are this season's "it" shoe. What's great about this particular boot is that there are thousands of designs and materials to choose from. But essentially there are only two types of tall boots you need: a flat and a heel. In a flat tall boot, an item that is quite fashionable is the equestrian style boot. Sleek and modern, this boot is not only comfortable because of its shape, but also very chic and can be worn with everything. On the flip side, a classic heeled boot is another great option this winter season. Some things that you might want to look out for are a boot that has a medium sized heel and doesn't have too much embellishment on it, like buckles and fringe. You can get more use out of a boot if it is kept simple, classic and chic.
