Mark Mendelson President of Ann Taylor's New Concept

AnnTaylor Stores Corporation (NYSE: ANN) announced that, effective immediately, Mark Mendelson will become President of the Company's new concept, reporting directly to Kay Krill, President and CEO.
Mr. Mendelson, a seasoned retail executive formerly with Ann Taylor, will lead the team that will prepare the new concept for launch. Ms. Krill stated, "I am delighted to welcome Mark back to Ann Taylor in this critical leadership role. He will lead an important growth initiative, which we believe will become a billion dollar business. He has a proven record of success in the industry, and he thoroughly understands and embraces all aspects of the new concept we plan to launch in Fall 2008. I am confident that Mark's passion, experience, and leadership will benefit both our new concept and the Company overall."
Added Mr.
Mendelson, "I look forward to leading the team that will launch the new concept and deliver meaningful growth for the Company over time."
Mr. Mendelson joins Ann Taylor from Jones New York, where he served since 2001, most recently as Chief Merchandising Officer for Jones Apparel. Prior to Jones, Mr. Mendelson was President of Elie Tahari, from 1998 to 2001. Previously, he held senior management positions at other companies, including Ann Taylor, where he served as Executive Vice President and General Merchandise Manager in the early 1990's.
