Handbags are a must-have fashion accessory and designer handbags are at the top of this accessory chain. I love handbags and I have a few too many. When I carry one of my bags, other women tend to look; but when I carry my one RED bag, they tend to stare. Yes, red bags get all the attention, always. This is no coincidence. French designers always make one handbag in red and this year is no exception. When I came upon Au Feminin, a fashion site from Paris, it openly stated that red bags, while featuring a yummy Dior piece, were definitely IN. That took me to The Bag File, the blog of designer Marcela Calvet, which coincidently featured its succulent Corinne handbag, a most appealing style in RED under the heading Accessoires: Alerte rouge! What woman of any age would not want to have at least one red bag in her closet? I mean one really nice handbag in red. The shape does not matter, nor does the material (although that Corinne bag in red lizard showed so well); what matters is that it be RED. Why? Because this color has more personal associations than any other color. This is a true fact. Experts in color coding know this and designers know this. Designers know that red is an attention-getting color, and when used as an accent, it can immediately draw that attention to the piece. Designers are also ingenious when it is time to name this color some call it garnet, rubi, rubi red. In Marcela Calvet's case, her red always carries an element of the exotic: Morocco Red. As the holiday season approaches, why not think about getting a new handbag in RED. This color never goes out of fashion and it always gets the most looks!
