Artlandia, Inc., maker of award-winning pattern design software, has updated its pattern
design plug-ins to be compatible with the new Creative Suite 3 (CS3) versions of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Artlandia SymmetryWorks 4 and Artlandia SymmetryShop are widely used by designers for all major markets, including textile, print, web, illustration, and others, and the update ensures a smooth transition for designers wishing to take advantage of the powerful features in the new Creative Suite.

Artlandia SymmetryWorks and Artlandia SymmetryShop automate the painstaking process of creating surface designs in Illustrator and Photoshop, respectively. SymmetryWorks lets the user create and interactively edit patterns with both vector and raster elements, and SymmetryShop specializes in creating patterns from large scanned images and high-resolution photographs. The new features of Creative Suite, such as live color, enhanced selection and drawing tools, improved user interface, customized and streamlined workflows, and others, which appeal to pattern designers, can be readily used with the updated versions of the
plug-ins and make designer's work even more productive and engaging.

The update is available immediately for both Windows and Mac OS operating systems. The Mac OS versions support both Intel and PowerPC systems. The update is free to users of the currently shipping SymmetryWorks 4 and SymmetryShop. Users of all earlier versions of SymmetryWorks can upgrade for $75 (download) or $99 (CD-ROM/printed user guide). Site license users will receive a free upgrade that is expected to ship next week.
